LOVING VINTAGE WEDDINGS

I have to confess my love for decade themed vintage weddings. Styling a wedding according to a certain decade style is not super-easy to pull off, but when it's done well, the outcome can be seriously breath-taking [note that this is not a call for perfection - i equally like weddings with mixed vintage elements that are dear to the wedding couple and represent their style]. Check out these weddings, and I'm sure you'll understand what I mean.




The 1920's style wedding of Ginny & Ed featured on 100 Layer Cake (photography: Josh Goleman). I am loving the muted color theme and the fact that the weddings guests seem to have gone along completely with the wedding theme in terms of clothing and styling. And how awesome is that venue?





Another 20's wedding: Matt & Geneva featured on Green Wedding Shoes (images: Wildflowers photography). The wedding party style is seriously grand and the photography brings out the 20's feeling perfectly.





Now this is not a wedding, but I just needed to include this fantasic jazz age lawn party. Looks like so much fun! (featured on Grey Likes Weddings, photography by Trent Bailey)





This 1930's speakeasy themed wedding of Shannon & Chris is pure perfection. One can hardly believe that it's not actually from the 30's. (via 100 Layer Cake, by Jillian Clark Event Design, photography: Weddings by Two)





This glamorous art deco inspired wedding featured on Ruffled was the initial reason for my post today.

  7. I'm obsessed with the vintage wedding theme! I'm all about the 1920's Hollywood glam. . . you could say I was born in the wrong ere (accept for the whole women's rights thing!)

  8. I didn't even know they still made those old school microphones. That aside, I also can't get over that wedding theme. Sometimes, you really can't replace the classics.
