A FINNISH-FILIPINO WEDDING IN HELSINKI

Last friday we had the honor to be part of the wedding day of a lovely couple at Villa Ruusuniemi in Helsinki. We can't thank K & R enough to allow us to style and help organize their big day. It was a wonderful experience and we loved just about everything about it!

The ceremony was held outside in the villa's yard against a beautiful backdrop of the wooded shore of the baltic sea. A view like that didn't call for much embellishment so we decided to make only a flowy white fabric arch for the couple to be married under. And although the day was rather cloudy, the sun came out just as the ceremony started - perfect!

Viime perjantaina saimme olla osana ihanaa hääjuhlaa, joka pidettiin Villa Ruusuniemessä, Helsingissä. Emme voi olla enempää kiitollisia saadessamme järjestää ja stailata ihanan hääpärin suuren päivän.

Seremonia pidettiin ulkona meren rannalla. Seremonian tausta oli itsessään niin kaunis, että korostimme sitä vain valkoisella kangastaustalla. Aurinko tuli juuri esiin ennen seromonian alkamista!





K & R had requested to incorporate both Finnish and Filipino elements into the wedding design and we loved the idea. The tables were set with a burlap runner on white linens, centerpieces from banana leaves, white florals, pretty greens and birch twigs + cylindric glass vases and candles. We drew the table numbers onto fans the groom's mother had brought from the Philippines. We created smaller chalkboard signs from birch slices and larger ones from chalkboard and birch branch frames, the escort cards were held by birch pieces.

K & R toivoi somistuksessa yhdistyvän suomalaiset ja filipiiniläiset elementit ja mielestämme idea oli ihana. Pöytäsomisteet koostuivat juuttikankaisista kaitaliinoista, kukka-asetelmista, jotka olivat tehty baninlehdistä, valkoisista kukista, erilaisista vihreistä lehdistä sekä koivunoksista. Pöydät täydennettiin tolppakynttilöillä, jotka olivat sylinterimaljoissa. Pöytänumerot maalasimme viuhkoihin, jotka sulhasen äiti oli tuonut Filipiineiltä. Teimme pieniä ja suuria liitutaulukylttejä koivun paloihin, sekä lisäksi kyltityksinä toimi liitutaulut, joiden ympärillä oli koivunoksia. Escord -kortit olivat koivun haloissa.

The catering was wonderful, probably one of the best wedding menues we've ever tasted. But the dessert table was simply amazing! Marcelle from Cestoni Gourmet did such a splendid job with the brownies & caramel flan; the yummy macarons and wedding cake were delivered by ph7 bakery. The bride and groom brought in the super-cute Iittala glass bird cake toppers. Don't you just love this idea?

Catering oli aivan mahtava! Yksi parhaimmista hää-menuista, joita olemme ikinä maistaneet. Jälkiruokapöytä oli mahtava! Marcelle Gastoni Gourmelta loihti ihanat browniet ja caramel Flanin. Ihanat macaronsit ja hääkakku olivat Ph7:n käsialaa. Sulhanen ja morsian toivat kakkukoristeeksi ihanat linnut Iittalta.
