SEQUIN STREET ART // THERESA HIMMER

I spotted these sequin installations when I was in Reykjavik a few years back and I was fascinated by this idea. The smallest amount of wind makes the sequins dance and brings the installations to life. Theresa Himmer, a Danish/Czech artist created this mountain series to add texture and depth to the face of the city of Reykjavik. The movement of the installations mimics the flow of lava or water and the glittering of snow.

Around Reykjavik similar smaller installations were also used on store fronts in organic shapes or logo designs. Loving this idea - could definitely be used elsewhere too!

You can read more on Theresa Himmer right here.

Michaela löysi näitä ihania seinätaideteoksia Reyakvikissa ollessaan. Pienikin tuulenvire saa taideteokset eloon.

  2. One of the reasons why I like to go in Iceland is to visit Reykjavik city! I hope I can book some air phil express tickets, so that I can take a picture with those brilliant designs!

  3. That is a good idea, I think. It feels http://custom-writing.services/ like I would like to see the town painted like that.
