FLOWERS

I've had these pictures of these pieces we did for an event at Musiikkitalo in Helsinki on my laptop for weeks; now I finally got a moment to share them with you.

We had so much fun working on this project - imagine a day at your studio cutting out pieces of styrofoam mannequin heads and filling them with loads of pretty flowers. Yay! The black box space at the venue, which is as the name says all black, brought out the finished pieces perfectly (also thanks to the great house light technician over at Musiikkitalo).

Vihdoin saimme hetken jakaa tämän upean projektin kanssanne, jonka teimme Helsingin Musiikkitalon Black Boxin -lämpiöön jo useita viikkoja sitten. Upea tila loi arvoisensa puitteet kukka-asetelmille, iso kiitos siitä kuuluu myös Musiikkitalon mahtavalle valoteknikolle.

Asetelmat olivat paitsi kauniita ja poikkeuksellisia, mutta niitä oli ihana tehdä. Styroxiset päät olivat leikattu auki ja täytetty kukkasienellä. Asiakkaan brändin väreihin sopivilla kukilla loimme kukkahiukset nukeille ja koristelimme viehkeästi torsoja.






5 hours later – and that's really the saddest part of our work – we picked them up, left a few of the flowers with the venue personnel and threw the rest away. And this we do all the time. And it feels terrible every time. We'd love to keep them all around, but we'd need a good 50 extra square metres of studio space for that.

So, here's a shout-out to all of you that live somewhere around: if you like some fresh flowers at your place every now and again, come to our studio after we've had an event and pick up something pretty. Just so we don't have to always throw it out after a day. Shoot us an email if you're interested. Maybe we'll set up a newsletter that we send out every time we have a bunch of centerpieces leftover from a party, a wedding or some other cool event.

Viisi tuntia myöhemmin – mikä on aina  työmme tylsin kohta – heitimme kasan ihania, huolella tehtyjä kukka-asetelmia pois.  Tässäkin tapauksessa tarjoiluhenkilökunta halusi osan kukista kotiinsa, mutta suurin osa lensi roskiin. Haluaisimme pitää kukat studiollamme aina tapahtumien jälkeen, mutta tarvitsisimme erillisen huoneen pelkästään kukka-asetelmille.

Mikäli asut lähistöllä ja haluat aina silloin tällöin tuoreita kukkia kotiisi, tule hakemaan niitä meiltä. Laita meille mailia, niin voimme infota sinua koska meiltä saa ihania asetelmia. Näin ollen saamme hyvän kiertoon ja iloa kukista madollisimman monelle.
